Geographicaly Jhelum is located just 1 hour drive from the Capital of Pakistan "Islamabad", and 2.5 Hours drive from the heart of Punjab "Lahore". Few other cities which are as far as 1 to 2 hours drive are "Gujrat" popular for Fan industry and "Gujranwala" Popular as Industrial City of Pakistan. "Chakwal" was also a part of jhelum until division of the district jhelum into two districts and is just beside Jhelum popular for its corps and sweets such as Rewri. On the other side we are linked with "MirPur" Azad Kashmir (AJK) popular as mini-England as all the people of that city are setteled in United Kingdom. "Mangla dam", one of the bigest dams of Pakistan on river jhelum is also located in Jhelum district, a Fantastic place to visit and best place to have picnic. Travelers can come to Jhelum either by Railways or by car via G.T.Road, and can have sight. We have "British made" Railway bridge which was imported from England in 1872, and is still intact and usable for Railways.
