The basic government system is as per new system of Nazims and Naib Nazims. District Jhelum head is called Nazim of District Jhelum, with Naib Nazim as his assistant. After District it comes Tehsil Nazims and their Assistants (Naib Nazims). Every tehsil in Jhelum has its own Nazims and Naib Nazims who control Union councils.
As discussed earlier Tehsils are made up of union councils and every union council has its own Union Council Nazim and Naib Nazim. Who are incharge of their own prespective union councils.
There are more then 52 Union councils in District Jhelum whereas every tehsil has different number of Union councils.
